Maddie has played basketball for the highest-level Canterbury teams for the last 6 years as well as at secondary school and co-captain/captaining her teams to local and national victory. Having completed Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Maddie is working towards her Gold and holds many college leadership roles in sport and academics supporting and inspiring others. In the Jnr Tall Ferns squad for the past 2 years, at 18, Maddie is the only South Islander selected for the team to compete in the FIBA Asia Cup, India. This Grant will help Maddie’s travel costs which is pivotal for her development in basketball and future goals to play in National League teams and get to the 2023 World Champs.
