Liam Rogers is a dedicated sprint kayaker representing NZ at the young age of 17. His journey began at age 10, and he has excelled in the sport, winning gold at the Asia Pacific Regatta in 2024 in both the U18 K4 500m and K1 200m relay, while also securing 4th place in the K1 200m A final. His achievements include placing in several events at the 2024 Kayak Nationals, the 2023 Blue Lakes event, and the 2023 Oceania Cup. He was also selected for the 2022 and 2023 NZ Asia Pacific Team. Recently selected for the U18 men’s team, Liam is set to compete in the ICF Sprint Kayaking Jnr Worlds in Bulgaria, aiming for a spot in the A final. This grant supports Liam’s travel expenses to this event. His immediate goal is to perform exceptionally at the World Champs, with a long-term aspiration to make the open men’s squad and trial for the Olympics.
