Lauryn is devoted to making a difference to the lives of others. Aged 20, she is studying Law/Political Science/French at Canterbury University, balanced with volunteering with Purpose Projects, a Uganda-based organisation. With her passion for international development and humanitarianism Lauryn has also been heavily involved in UN Youth Canterbury, Amnesty UC and an Aspiring Leaders Forum in NZ Parliament. This Grant helps Lauryn join a volunteer team in France working with displaced refugees and then to Uganda to help construct a primary school. Her ultimate goal is a global role working with refugees through UN Refugee Agency or similar agencies.
