Laurence initially took up cycling for injury rehab from cross-country while at Christchurch Boys High, and in 2016 won national titles in road and track cycling, triathlon, duathlon and cross-country. Now 16, Laurence was in the 2019 NZ Jnr team to win the Oceania cycling title and medals, hot on the heels of 7 national titles and 1 medal in 8 events in 2018, and a total of 35 national titles. This Grant helps Laurence to the Jnr World Track Champs in Germany where he is focused on bringing home a world title as his next step to future Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
