Jake Bailey

Voluntary Work

  1. Grantee | November 2021

At the age of 18 Jake was diagnosed with a highly aggressive cancer and given two weeks to live if left untreated. After 3 months of intensive treatment, he went into remission. Jake has turned that life-changing event into a platform to help others - particularly young people, sharing the resilience and strategies he learnt to overcome adversity. Having now connected with over 20,000 young people world-wide, written a book (with a second book on resilience for teens underway), launched a video curriculum of resilience education (SORTD), Jake is having a huge impact on others. Jake will use this Grant to complete his Diploma in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing and continue developing ways to connect with even more young people as part of his goal to create a generation of resilient young people ready to succeed, thrive, and make an impact of their own for the world.
