Jack has competitively surfed most of his life and at just 17 is NZ men’s top longboarder. He’s made several NZ teams since 2021 including NZ Trans-Tasman Team, U18 rep, NZ Jnr Surfing Team, World Jnr Champs El Salvador U16 rep, NZ Team Men’s rep Anoc Olympic Beach Games Bali, NZ Team Men’s rep ISA World Longboarding Champs. At 16 Jack was both the first NZer, and the youngest ever qualifier for the World Surf League Longboard Tour. He also beat top Aussies to win the World Surf League Australasian Trials event. While balancing surfing with a goal to become an architect, this Grant will help Jack to the International Surfing Assoc World Longboard champs in El Salvador as the next step to World Champ wins and medalling if longboarding is added to the 2028 Olympics.
