After taking up canoe polo in 2015 Ava’s talent was soon spotted through selection to represent NZ in Oceania and European competitions. Due to Covid-19 cancelling many tournaments, Ava’s promising global career went on hold. Despite the disappointment, 20 year old Ava maintained her focus and training ready to take up new opportunities when they opened up again. Following selection to compete at the 2022 ICF Canoe Polo World Champs in France, this Grant helps Ava return to international competition where she is eagerly aiming for a Gold medal as her next step towards the World Games.
