2018 has been a great year for 17 year old Quinton who won the National Open 1500m Freestyle Title at the NZ Short Course Swimming Champs, and qualified for the World Short Course Champs 2018 in China, which this Grant will support him to attend. He also placed 2nd at the Oceania Swimming Champs and qualified for the Jnr Pan Pacific Champs, met qualifying times for the Youth OIympics and made selection for the National Squad. An all-rounder, Hurley is also Prefect at St Andrews, and Leader of the Sustainability Council and a House Leader. Competing since he was 10, Quinton is an 800m and 1500m record holder with an aim to represent NZ at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2024 Olympics.
