Kiera Hall, 19, burst onto the track scene in late October 2020, making an impressive debut with a 4th place finish at the Secondary School Nationals, after only two prior 800m races. She swiftly broke Canterbury and South Island Secondary School records in the 800m, winning gold in this event and silver in the 1500m at the U18 Nationals in 2022. Although selected for the Oceania and World U20 Champs that year, an injury sidelined her, leading to an eight-month recovery period. After this break, she showed her fighting spirit to win the 800m title at the Secondary School Nationals. Her journey continued at Providence College in Rhode Island, where she refreshed her passion for running, shaving six seconds off her 1500m personal best and qualifying for the 2024 World U20 Champs in Peru. This grant supports her dream to compete internationally again, showcasing her resilience and determination. Kiera aims to set a personal best in Peru, advance to the NCAA Championship, and aspire for further representation in NZ Athletics at the Olympics.
