At 24, Charles has a passion for and excelled with top placings in both skiing and mountain biking including a 1st in this year’s New Zealand 6-day race MTB event. Now focused on mountain biking in the last two years he has competed in Enduro Mountain Biking at high calibre events and is now ready for the next level as a podium contender at the coming World Series. A qualified structural engineer, Charles balances a busy work schedule with training, competing and giving back through community coaching and trail restoration projects. This Grant will help Charles compete at the Enduro World Series towards joining a professional race team while continuing to promote sustainable practices and further help youth get into sports they may not have had opportunities to try.
